Captains Responsibilities

A Captain for each squash team is appointed each season.

The duties of a Captain include:
  1. Most importantly that the games are played in good sporting spirit. Remember we are not playing for "Sheep Stations".
  2. Ensure each team member is a financial member of Reggio Calabria Club and has paid any fees due.
  3. Ensure that there are 4 players who can play for each round of the pennant season and that players play in the appropriate order.
  4. Ensure payment of the supper costs are paid at the end of the night.
  5. Liase with the Captains of opposing teams eg let them know that a player may be late.
  6. If there are any problems re fielding teams, contact the Match and Pennant Committeeman.
  7. If by chance, your team is unable to play on the scheduled night, ie you have to give a walkover, YOU MUST contact the Club ASAP to inform it of the fact.

This is so the chefs do not prepare food and stay around for teams who will not turn up.

The Club will not be happy if this occurs!

  8. Before each season, the Captain of each team should attend the team selection meeting. Or if this impossible he/she should appoint someone from the team to attend the meeting in his/her place.

The Match and Pennant Chairman is not a mindreader as to the availability or otherwise of every player in the Club. The Match and Pennant Chairman needs this input to properly select teams each season.

Each team MUST send a representative to this meeting.
